Our Youth in Action

Our youth meet Every Sunday and

wEdnesday from 5:30-7:00

United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)

The fridge is located upstairs, above Ciruti Hall where youth can come to be fed the word of God. Youth consists of playing games, eating food, and applying the word of God to our everyday lives. At FUMC Hammond, we have a fun youth group that treats everyone like family. Youth programs are especially designed for students in the 6th -12th grade. As the FUMC Hammond youth group, we aim to welcome everyone and meet them exactly where they at so they can have a relationship with us. Eventually, in their own time we hope that they are able to develop a true, authentic relationship with God. Come hang out with the youth! Fun games, food, and fellowship!

Want to Volunteer?

Like any youth group, FUMC Hammond youth are always looking for volunteers to help out and there are many ways you can jump in if your passion is to be with youth!
  • Sunday Night Dinner:  Every Sunday night our youth meal is provided by volunteers who feel called to serve the youth dinner. This is a fairly simple task that primarily involves your time and willingness. The youth will eat pretty much anything you'd like to bring us. Typically we average 12 youth on Sunday evenings and we eat dinner at 6.
  • Drivers: For various youth events drivers are needed. The youth group typically does a fun outing that requires some kind of transportation once a month or so. If you would be willing to bring youth from the church, to a place, and back please let us know. (Distances might vary depending on the event.) It is a great opportunity to connect with the youth in your community.
  • Presence: Majority of the time, the youth just need people. This might consist of another adult in the room or someone to simply talk to. FUMC Hammond follows the Safe Sanctuary protocol during events and needs a certain number of people for particular events to help out.

What do the people say?

"I love being apart of the youth group because it gives me a safe sanctuary to share my thoughts, feelings, and concerns. I can always rely on my youth group to help me get through the hard times in my life. They always stand by my side. My church shows God's love and helps me share that very love."
